348 I should analyse myself
I should analyse myself
And I should search you often within me
However I look (pretend) outwardly
I should probe me within myself
After reading many things
However I say many things to others
How far they are true within me
This I should scrutinize within me.
I should not proclaim any concept
Which I do not believe within me
What I cannot practice
I should not teach others.
Stopping all works (karma) and controlling my mind
I should sit at your feet for some time
And I should give myself unto you
For you to analyse me that time.
Assigning few seconds and controlling the mind
Bowing at your feet and knowing your will
And to live accordingly each day
I should examine myself often.

After my regular reading of Muktiveda and other books, I began to write my response on exclusivism to a bhakta. when I completed then I said to myself in Tamil, ‘now it is time for me to search myself’. As the same words continue to repeat again and again in my mind, I wrote this song. As I am reading CWG (Complete Works of Mahatma Gandhiji) vol. 12, I am often challenged by the way Gandhiji lived and wrote about his life to others. He never wrote or gave adivise to others in which he does not believe or practice in his life. And when I compared my life with him, I realized how small I am before him. Then I wrote this song as my prayer.
348 ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கணும்
என்னையே நானும் ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கணும்
என்னுளே அடிக்கடி உன்னையும் தேடணும்
வெளியிலே எப்படி நான் இருந்தாலும்
உள்ளாக என்னையே ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கணும்
பலவற்றைப் படித்துப் பலவற்றை எழுதி
புறம்பாகப் பிறர்க்கு எத்தனை கூறினும்
எத்தனை தூரம் என்னுள்ளே அவையெல்லாம்
உண்மை என்று ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கணும்
உள்ளாக என்னிலே நம்பாத கருத்தை
ஒருநாளும் பிறருக்குக் கூறாது இருக்கணும்
உண்மையாய் என்னாலே செய்ய முடியாமல்
பிறருக்கு மட்டும் போதிக்க மறுக்கணும்
செயல்களை நிறுத்திச் சிந்தையை ஒடுக்கிச்
சற்றேனும் உன்பாதம் நானும் அமரணும்
அந்த நேரத்தில் நீ என்னை ஆராய
அமைதியாக நான் என்னை அளிக்கணும்
சிலநொடி ஒதுக்கி சித்தத்தை அடக்கி
சேவடி பணிந்து உன்சிந்தை அறிந்து
அதன்படி வாழ அனுதினம் நானும்
அடிக்கடி என்னை ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்கணும்
