Carpet and Home School

At present I am working on two: one (Corona) carpet and another Home School. Actually that carpet was started by my mother. After doing the outer most borders she gave up as she cannot handle such a huge size. So I took it and began to work this carpet design when the Wuhan virus began back in February.  It is not yet finished and I need to do two more borders.  Doing borders is always challenging one as we have to carefully calculate and adjust the counts to match with the central design.

The Home School is a printed canvas. I have completed two third and working on it to finish it.  One way it is easy to do the printed canvas, but at the same time it has its own challenges. When we do the printed canvas, we should not strictly follow the pattern given in the original, but need to use our imagination and skill to make need changes both in colour and also in pattern. I always do this.  I gave the title as ‘Home School’ as Wuhan virus forced (Indian) students who never had such practice in the past in doing Home school.  Sometimes going to school gave them to escape from the watchful eyes of the parents particularly by mother to enjoy the company of his/her friends in school. But this virus deprived them this opportunity and now under constant surveillance of the mother.

On the other side the parents, particularly mother also miss their space to breath bit freely after sending the children to school (and husband for work). Now they too are trapped to do extra work load of doing Home school. But a mother knows how to handle all the work simultaneously as she is naturally a multi-task oriented person (like every other woman).  Ask the father to do it—churning the butter and teaching the boy. Then within five minutes he will break the pot, irritate his son,  will become upset and shout his wife asking to handle more than one work simultaneously.  That is not possible for man.
