567 Again you redeemed me
I remained without understanding
Now I understood your nature
I took you for granted as simple one
And I mocked your love
Blindly I went on my own ways
I transgressed even after your disciplined me
I stumbled and fall head on
Due to my own pride I get perished
When you told gently I refused to listen
When you rebuked me harshly I didn’t accept
Now thinking that there is no other means
You allowed me to get stumbled
Taking courage that I am your bhakta
Taking too much right
Thinking that you will accept whatever I do
How much I dare to do
Waiting for the proper time
Giving proper punishment to me
Having ‘harsh compassion’# for me
You redeemed me again

Sometimes God has to show his ‘harsh compassion’ known as ‘marakkarunai in Tamil’ to discipline us. Familiarity breeds contempt. This is too with God also. As I told in the previous poem (566), I take God for granted. And waiting for proper time, allowing certain incidents to happen in my life, God not only showed who He is but also to redeem me to show where I took Him too lightly, redeemed me like a doctor doing operation only having compassion on a patient.
567 மீண்டும் மீட்டுக்கொண்டாய்
இதுவரை உணராமல் இருந்து விட்டேன்
இப்போது உன்குணம் உணர்ந்துவிட்டேன்
எளியவன் என உன்னை எண்ணிவிட்டேன்
உன்னன்பை ஏளனம் செய்துவிட்டேன்
கண்மூடி என்போக்கில் சென்றுவிட்டேன்
கண்டித்தாய் ஆயினும் மீறிவிட்டேன்
தடுமாறித் தலைகீழே வீழ்ந்துவிட்டேன்
“தான்” என்ற அகந்தையால் அழிந்துவிட்டேன்
இதமாகச் சொன்னதைக் கேட்கவில்லை
இடித்துச் சொன்னாலும் ஏற்கவில்லை
இனிவேறு வழியில்லை என்றுஎண்ணி
இடறிவிழ வைத்தாய் என்னைக் காக்க
உன்பக்தன் என்ற துணிவு கொண்டு
உரிமையும் அதிகமாய் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு
என்ன செய்தாலும் ஏற்பாய் என்று
என்னமாய்த் துணிவு கொண்டுவிட்டேன்
ஏற்ற நேரம் பார்த்திருந்து
எனக்கேற்ற தண்டனை நீயும் தந்து
மறக் கருணை மனதில் நீயும்கொண்டு
மீட்டுக் கொண்டாய் நீ மீண்டுமென்னை
