Let us see God
Among human relationship
In this life on earth
Let us show
True love
In others live
Without this
There is no
True knowledge
About God
Not realizing this
They teach
Many ways for us to follow
I will say with
Firm conviction that
There is none
Who really renounced the world?
I also tell this
With clear understanding that
One should not
Give up human relationship
God also came
To this world
Only to demonstrate this
Following him
Let us do the
Same on this earth

This poem I wrote at Mahari. Whenever I live among people, my mind becomes tired and immediately I want to run away from everything. At the same time I experience that I cannot become a ‘Recluse’ like Emily Dickinson, because I need human relationship to lead a sober life. When I meditated on this, I wrote this. 31-8-96, 7-15 a.m. But this ‘dvand’ (repulsion and attraction) is part of human nature I think. When others take us for granted, then we want to avoid them, but we realize that without human relationship we cannot live on this earth. So striking a balance is the best remedy to overcome such ‘dvand’.
73 இறை அறிவு
உறவின் மத்தியில்
இறைவனைக் காண்போம்
உலக வாழ்வினிலே
உள்ளம் நிறைந்த
நேயத்தை அருள்வோம்
பிறரின் வாழ்வினிலே
இதுவே அன்றி
‘இறை-அறிவு’
வேறே ஏதுமில்லை
இதை உணராமலே
போதிக் கின்றார்
பல வழிகளையே
துறந்தவன் எவனும்
உலகில் இல்லை
துணிந்தே கூறிடுவேன்
துறந்திட வேண்டாம்
மனித உறவை
அறிந்தே கூறிடுவேன்
இறைவனும் இவ்
உலகினில் வந்தது
இதற்காகத்தானே
அவனைத் தொடர்ந்து
நாமும் இங்கு
அதன்படி செய்வோமே
