Even if I live only for a day
I should live only with you.
Even if I worship you only one time
I should worship your feet
I should always
Think about your grace
I should only
Glorify your name.
Each day I come
Seeking your holy feet
I sing your praise
With sweet Tamil
Both with sense and mind
I only glorify you
I rejoice
As I live for you.
I should sit
Calmly at your feet.
Oh my Lord
I should listen to you.
I should strive
To live accordingly.
For that I need
More of your grace!
Sometimes I will
Praise you using many words
Other times
I will do seva for you
Not doing both
I might even take rest
And I will see
That your grace is even in it.
Not comparing
My life with others
Not living a life
For others to see
I will do your will
Knowing it clearly
As you gave this day
Only for that.
I should
Live like this
Celebrating you
With thanks giving
Singing songs
Like this every day
Not troubled
Thinking about my future.

Many times I heard several people saying, that even if I live for one day I should live like this or live with him or her etc. As a bhakta for me to live with the lord worshiping him and writing songs to praise him is my desire for to live even for one day. Though I never set aside separate time to worship Him, the constant communication in the spirit always feeling his presence in whatever I do is the longing for me to live even one day with him. As I mediated about it and requested the same in my prayer, as the inspiration came I wrote this song expressing that longing.
769 ஒருநாள் வாழிணும்
ஒருநாள் வாழ்ந்தாலும்
உன்னோடு வாழணும்
ஒருநேரம் தொழுதாலும்
உன்னடிப் பணியணும்
உன்னருள் தன்னையும்
எண்ணியே பார்க்கணும்
உன்புகழ் தன்னையே
நானுமே உயர்த்தணும்
தினந்தோறும் திருவடி
தேடியே வருகிறேன்
தீந்தமிழ்ப் பண்கொண்டு
உன்புகழ் பாடுறேன்
உணர்வாலும் மனதாலும்
உன்னையே வாழ்த்துறேன்
உனக்காக வாழ்வதில்
மகிழ்ச்சியும் கொள்கிறேன்
அமைதியாய் உன்னடி
அமர்ந்திட வேண்டும்
ஐயன்நீ சொல்வதைக்
கேட்டிட வேண்டும்
அதன்படி வாழ
முயன்றிட வேண்டும்
அதற்கும் உன்னருளுமோ
அதிகமாய் வேண்டும்
சொல்கொண்டு உன்னை
சிலநேரம் துதிப்பேன்
செயல்மூலம் உனக்காகப்
பணிசெய்து கிடப்பேன்
இரண்டுமே இல்லாமல்
ஒய்வுமே எடுப்பேன்
அதிலும் உன்னருள்
இருப்பதைக் காண்பேன்
பிறரோடு என்னையும்
ஒப்பிட்டுப் பாராமல்
பிறர்காண வேண்டி
ஒருவாழ்வு வாழாமல்
எனக்கென நீதந்த
இன்றைய நாளையும்
உனக்கென நான்வாழ்ந்து
உன்சித்தம் செய்வேன்
நன்றியால் நானுனை
கொண்டாடி வாழ்ந்து
நாள்தோறும் இதுபோல
