404 Don’t lament
Let the things that are gone remain past history
Let your lamenting also come to an end
When the one who understands, is there to give company
Why lament unnecessarily?
The one who said that He will never forsake you, and
The one who said that He will protect you as the apple of the eye
And the one who said, ‘why get troubled; come and lay down your burden on me’ is calling you
There is no point of carrying the burden with adamantly
But there is no escape from it either
We need to carry which we are expected to carry
And when the burden becomes unbearable we need to call for help
Some burdens remain pleasant one to carry
And many unbearable burdens will also come
Whether pleasant or unbearable—whichever it might be
Frustration will only increase the burden
Just you see that He will come
Ask Him one more time with much pleading
You seek the one who has the nature to
Open when we knock and to give when we ask

I received one response after reading one poem which I sent to the wife of an ailing husband, who later died due to cancer. That poem moved her heart and she wrote back agreeing with me. As I was reflecting our common situation where we both are forced to carry a burden, which is beyond our capacity to carry, then I said to myself, it is time to stop even lamenting about this burden. Because frustration is not going to help us to unload the burden but it is going to increase it. But this is not only limited with two of us. Many of us lament on various burden and it looks the Lord is not even listening our pleas. But patiently waiting for God’s time, at least if we stop getting frustrated, our burden will become very light and then we can soberly think to asses our situation. As I was making my morning tea, stopping it I came to my room and wrote this song.
404 புலம்பாதே
போனதெல்லாம் இனிப் போகட்டும்
புலம்பலும் சற்றே ஓயட்டும்
புரிந்து கொண்டவன் துணையிருக்கையில்
புலம்பித் தவிப்பதும் ஏனோ வீணில்
கைவிட மாட்டேன் என்றே சொன்னவன்
காத்திடுவேன் உன்னைக் கண்மணி போலென்றவன்
கலங்கியே தவித்து வீணிலே சுமப்பதேன்
வைத்திடு என்மீது என்றவன் அழைக்கிறான்
வீம்புக்குச் சுமப்பதால் பயனேதும் இல்லை
விட்டிட முயன்றாலும் தப்பிக்க வழியில்லை
சுமக்கச் சொன்னதைச் சுமந்துதான் ஆகணும்
சுமை அதிகம் ஆனால் உதவிக்கு அழைக்கணும்
சுகமான சுமையாக சிலகூட இருந்திடும்
சுமக்க முடியாத பலகூட வந்திடும்
சுகமோ-சுமையோ எப்படி இருந்தாலும்
சஞ்சலம் கொண்டிட பாரம் பெருகிடும்
வந்திடுவான் அவன் பாரு நீ
வருந்தி ஒருமுறை அழைத்தே கேளு
தட்டிடத் திறந்து, கேட்டிடத் தந்திடும்
தன்மை கொண்டோனை நீயுமே நாடு
